The internet is of great benefits. it provides global connection, is educative, provides limitless information, promotes remote work, can be used for shopping and payment of bills but it also has numerous disadvantages i.e. it could be time wasting, and can expose one to depression, addictive behaviours, misinformation, health issues, cyberbullying, isolation etc. which could result into poor mental state.

Balancing usage is strongly advised for individual well-being as excessive use can take a toll on one’s mental wellbeing and happiness. We also have to be careful about our digital footprints. Letting out so much personal information is most times not necessary, in fact it could end up being very detrimental to our safety and mental well-being.

How to use the internet the right way

  • Manage your digital footprint
  • Be intentional about what you consume on the internet
  • Avoid suspicious links
  • Limit social media use; know when to take a break
  • Avoid cyberbullying
  • Do not belief all you see on the internet!
  • Choose creation over consumption.

Can you imagine our world without an internet? How boring it will be!
